Listening Session

Thank you to all of the parents that took time out of their busy schedules to share concerns with us on Oct. 16th.  We presented the information gathered to the board at the Nov. 11 meeting, and would like to share the hits, misses, and ideas for change that were given by the three groups attending.  Additional information was shared with the board as well if you took the time to email in. 

We appreciate candid feedback at anytime.  We strive to learn and do better, and work as one team.

What we signed up for (or thought we were signing up for) was not what we got

Parent coaches told kids not to give high fives

Lack of team ownership and lack of investment by trainers

Communication delayed and more reactive than proactive

Paid coach not any better than parent coach this year

Pool training not made available to everyone

IDEAS FOR CHANGE

Felt like there didn’t even need to be tryouts since everyone made it?

Miscommunication about process of tryouts

Better model with parent coaches

Trainers/staff evaluate games in June and use info as a part of player evaluation (game ability)

Objective eyes on kids during games as part of the tryout process

Incorporate individual training/coaching

When numbers are low guest players should be scheduled as soon as possible (right after schedule is released)
